Welcome

Headteacher’s Welcome

I am delighted to share that I have been appointed as the new Headteacher of SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic Primary School, a place that holds a special place in my heart as a former pupil. It is an incredible honour to continue the amazing work that Mrs. Johnson has led, and I am privileged to step into this role.

In the weeks ahead, I'm eager to meet all our students, staff, as well as parents and carers.  From what I have seen, a school flourishes when we all come together, supporting our children and each other in every possible way. My goal is to collaborate with our staff on a vision for a school where children experience joy, safety, and an exciting curriculum that sparks their creativity. I am also keen on fostering strong connections with parents, carers and the local community. I believe in offering children learning opportunities beyond the classroom, ensuring they have a well-rounded education and the chance to explore their potential fully.   As they grow and move on from SS. Peter and Paul's, I want them to leave as confident learners, grounded individuals, and responsible members of society, well-prepared for the next steps in their education.

At our school, I envision a vibrant, caring, and hardworking environment where children are excited to learn and grow. As a Catholic community, celebrating our children's successes in every aspect of school life is crucial. It's our responsibility to show them our belief, respect, and pride in them each day, encouraging them to recognise their talents and potential.

Parents and carers, your role in your children's achievements is invaluable. I'm excited to strengthen the bond between home and school, working together to support our school community and your children's growth. Together, let's continue to make SS. Peter and Paul's a place where every child thrives.

SS Peter and Paul’s Catholic Primary School became an academy on 1st September 2020, joining The Good Shepherd Catholic Trust. We work in close collaboration with six other catholic schools, across Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham. The unity within the Trust, strengthens our desire for high standards and spiritual development.

We take immense pride in placing Christ at the centre of our school, where the teaching and practice of the Catholic faith lie at the heart of our curriculum. As a twice accredited Gold’ Rights Respecting School, SS. Peter and Paul’s have been praised for being an ‘outward looking community’ where an inclusive and supportive ethos is underpinned by respect for all members of the school community. Ofsted (2018) recognises that our school is ‘a warm, nurturing and creative learning environment that welcomes children from all cultures, faiths and backgrounds; everyone’s spiritual development, and social and emotional well-being, are of the highest priority.’

I am proud to be the new headteacher of such an esteemed school, I will ensure that this positive learning environment is maintained so that the children develop the learning behaviours and aspirations necessary for them to succeed in their future.

Thank you for entrusting your child’s education to us and we look forward to a very successful year ahead.
